This is my own best guess plus bits and pieces taken from two other tabs. The first was done by Yan Meesters and is in the TE archive; the second was provided to me by Lee Ramirez in written format. It was done by French transcriptionist Christian Denoyelle. I think the result is more accurate (and playable); it's as much like Chet's arrangement as I can make it without notating every little grace note, anticipation, brush effect, etc.
If you have corrections or suggestions, please send them to me. p.doty@worldnet.att.net

FINGERING NOTES:
This tune doesn't lend itself to traditional chord diagrams very well, but I've inserted some useful shapes and named them as best I can.
I think measures 5 through 8 are the most difficult of the tune. I've indicated the fingering I use. You may take issue with covering the 3d and 4th string with the 3d finger as in measure 6. That works best for me, but you could use 3 and 4 instead.
Also, the figure in measure 9 can be played using the first string open for the F#, though it involves the difficult move of lifting the barre on the high strings while leaving it down for the basses.
I also recommend you use a capo at least to learn the tune. It sure makes those stretches shorter.

I've indicated the fingering I use in several other spots. Feel free to use what works for you; I'm a little un-orthodox at times.

Measure 29 offers another little challenge. To get the bass note to ring all the way through the measure, you have to lift the 'high half' of the barre to get the open note on the first string. You ought to try to learn how if you can't, but don't let it stop you, just play a half note in the bass.

Finally, if you are a reasonably accomplished player, you CAN play this but it may take a couple of weeks to get your hands to co-operate! Listen to Chet's recording and notice how aggressively he attacked this tune. That's how you master it. At least that's my opinion...and it ought to be yours! cw#',18 %).38
