CE 1:05.358GMercy, Mercy, Mercy is one of the tunes Chet played on the Gretsch Country Gentleman that he modified to be an "Octabass guitar". That is, he changed the fifth and sixth strings to short scale bass guitar strings. "MMM" is in the key of G. I'm not certain if Chet capo'ed at the third fret or if he tuned up. It is fingered as if it were in the key of E. This TEF simulates the lowered bass strings. The only two instruments I can hear for certain on this recording are Chet and a percussionist. In several measures there seems to be a rhythm guitarist, but I tend to believe it's my imagination. I did my best to transcribe this as accurately as I could. I'm not a percussionist nor pretend to be one. However, I did go through the recording measure by measure and at least attempt to imitate the rhythm of the drummer. c0"&+
